Jacys Journal - My trip to Cozumel 2004 I look forward to going to Mexico each year for a photo production shoot which I consider a working vacation. I do some modeling each afternoon, but also find time to put my feet up on a nice quiet beach, grab a book, work on my tan, drink beer and just unwind. Lifes little pleasures, Mexican style. |

My annual production shoot also gives me the chance to spend some time with old friends and make new ones. As usual I asked my friend Len to join me on the trip, and he was pleased to go. He's a talented photographer and over the years weve developed a great professional relationship allowing us to work quickly and effortlessly. We can almost read each other's minds when we work, and he knows just the type of photos I want for my website. I trust him to make me look my best and think he did a great job. Although in the past Ive shared my photos with other websites in order to save on expenses, this year Ive decided to pay for the whole trip myself and have the photos shown exclusively at Jacy and Friends. You wont find them anywhere else. It costs me a LOT to produce these photos, so I hope you find it in your heart to buy a few bee-tokens and take a look at them. (hint, hint)

I also spent a lot of time and money before the trip buying some sexy lingerie. Im not crazy about shopping to tell you the truth, but Ive always had a weakness for lingerie. In the new photo sets from the trip, youll see me in everything from hot and sexy black fishnet body stockings with killer heels, to cute little bras and panties with hearts on them. And of course, knowing Id be at the beach I found some really sexy swimsuits. I rented a beautiful villa in town that had a large wall around it for privacy. This way, I could sit by the pool au natural and not worry about tan lines. The tropical garden, pool and courtyard made wonderful backgrounds for my photos. Unlike previous trips where I was working with other models, this trip was just for me - so the pace was more leisurely too. I think thats why the photos came out so nicely - I really was relaxed. Of course being in Cozumel I found time for a little sightseeing, shopping in town and going to wonderful restaurants. Len and I really enjoyed the Mexican food of course, but also found great Argentinian and Italian restaurants too. I think our favorite place was The Lobster Shack. Its a dark, candle lit restaurant with just one thing on the menu - lobster. We would go up to the counter, pick out some HUGE lobster tails, and wait for them to be cooked to perfection. I was in heaven. Lens long time friend Barry came down from Boston, and in the evening the three of us would head out (we called ourselves the three amigos) to jazz clubs and on a few nights we would wind up at Sr. Frogs. I had a great time dancing with Len and Barry. Now and then the waiters would pull me out on the floor and insist on a dance. They were so nice to me, how could I refuse? On some afternoons, Len would put Barry to work holding a reflector during our photo shoots. But he hardly ever looked at me when I was nude, so I figured he didnt like the way I looked. Len assured me that he was just being polite and didnt want to make me feel uncomfortable. |

We also spent time with friends from previous trips. Our friend Bob owns Casa Colonial, a great little hotel right in town. After spending a week at the villa, we went over there for a few days to visit with him and his lovely wife. They always take great care of us and helped us find good locations for our shoots and wonderful restaurants to visit. If youre looking for a nice place to stay on Cozumel, you cant go wrong there. One night we were guests at the French Quarter Restaurant, and the owner, Mike treated us to some of the best jambalaya I ever had. Len also ran into an old friend, Fidel. Len has been coming to Cozumel for years but the two of them hadnt seen each other in a long time. So they had a very nice reunion, and Len and I went to Fidels birthday party in town and met his friends and family. Cozumel really has a small town feeling, and I know so many nice people there that Im really looking forward to visiting more often. I even found a new chiropractor there who is wonderful! (If you need a recommendation, write to me)
Cozumel has beautiful beaches and some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean. Although I had hoped to do some fishing on this trip, my back was hurting a little, so I thought it best to take it easy and not get too adventurous. But I enjoyed swimming at Paradise beach on the west coast. Its owned by the people who operate the large Fury Catamarans on the island, and its a great place to spend an afternoon. Everything is free there too - lounge chairs, kayaks, floats. We would get to the beach at about 2 in the afternoon, have lunch and enjoy Mexican beer all afternoon. Then when the sun got low in the sky, Len and I would spring into action and do some shooting. Our lounge chair neighbors found our routine quite amusing, and enjoyed watching us shoot. Of course some of the women would drag their boyfriends and husbands away as I slipped out of my swimsuits, but none of the men seemed to mind! We also visited the east side of the island where taking a photo by the topless photos only sign has become an annual ritual. With about two dozen tourists relaxing nearby, I think Len wasnt the only person taking photos as I took off my bikini. This year I did a twist on that photo and am not exactly topless. A little variety is always nice, dont you think? |
